| With the advent of the 10 cent superfecta, this exciting exotic wager is now within reach of the average racing fan. Still, the number of different possible finishes involving four horses is staggering. Winning a superfecta wager usually requires buying tickets covering a number of different possibilities. So, unless you have deep pockets, it's important to look for value. That's what this book is all about. It doesn't attempt to advise you on how to pick horses. However, it tries to show you, based on analysis of more than 24,000 superfecta payoffs, what tracks have been paying off more than the average, the effects of field size and winning favorites on the payoff, and how frequently large payoffs have been occurring. | There are a huge number of variables that can affect the outcome of a horse race. The serious handicapper has to deal with them one way or another. The objective of this book is not to develop a handicapping "system," but to offer a number of tools that can relieve you from tedious manual calculations or check lists. It does this by describing and explaining a set of more than 25 different spreadsheets and PC programs. These range from simple odds/probabilities calculations to creating a personal odds line, to analyzing exactas, to correlation and regression analysis. What's more, all of these are available as free downloads from the internet. Click HERE for a review from Phillips Racing Newsletter Click Here for a closer look. |
| This book is tightly focused on just one handicapping subject, the Key Race. A "Key Race" is generally defined as a race from which two or more horses have gone on to win their next races. The idea here is that if two or more horses from this race have gone on to win their next, then the race was unusually competitive. Doesn't it follow then, that many other horses in the race probably ran better than it may appear at first? A nice idea, but can it produce winning wagers? That's the subject addressed by this book. The book begins by illustrating a few Key Races, but goes on to document real results using this handicapping tool. Finally, it shows you how to identify horses coming from key races and how to use this knowledge to improve your handicapping results. Click Here for a closer look. |
